Welcome to the University of Westminster showcase of final year student work. The work you will encounter on this platform is an exciting reflection upon all that our graduating students have achieved during their courses here at our Harrow Campus. This covers fine and applied arts, media, communication, fashion, music and creative practices and stands as testimony to the capacity of these disciplinary fields to challenge, surprise, intrigue and inspire.
This group of students have demonstrated huge levels of resilience and courage, having spent a significant period of their study under pandemic conditions. I have been deeply impressed by their capacity to develop innovative and creative responses that speak to and beyond these issues. The number of students responding to social and cultural shifts is particularly exciting to see alongside how they have harnessed new and emerging technologies to articulate their thinking.
Every student makes a difference to our community here at Westminster and it is terrifically exciting to see our students across the School of Arts and Media & Communication graduating and taking up career routes in which they can demonstrate their creativity and application of industry-based knowledge. Each of us is changed by our encounters with their work; they ask us to consider what it means to be an artist, a performer, a musician, or a designer in the contemporary, global context. The passion, energy and problem solving we see here on this platform makes me hugely optimistic for the future of art, design and creativity and broader cultural spheres.
I congratulate all the graduating students and thank them hugely for all that you have brought to the community at Westminster. Stay in touch and we look forward to seeing you flourish in your future trajectories.
